Just wanted to pass along my recommendation for a great place to purchase your autobody supplies, equipment and paint. It's called Auto Paint and Equipment, and it's located on Lincoln Avenue, in McDonald. Their main product line is PPG, although they also handle Dupont, and a few generic brands. Since I haven't painted a car in nearly 20 years (when I did my '72 Midget), I'm WAY behind the technology curve. I was really dreading the transition from acrylic lacquer to urethane enamel. The guys at Auto Paint & Equipment have been VERY helpful, to say the least. They are always willing to discuss every aspect of the (to me) new technology, and offer me tips on the application. As a result, I'm actually looking forward to painting cars, again (!). So, if you are getting to the refinishing stage of your restoration, and want to do it right; drive over to McDonald and pay the lads at Auto Paint & Equipment a visit (besides, any business that had a large, black cat sleeping on the counter all day has GOT to be alright!). Hours are 8 to 4, Monday thru Friday (closed on Saturday). As with any store of this type, they're very busy, in the mornings, mixing paint orders for the local body shops, so, make your visits in the afternoon, even to order paint (they'll have it mixed and ready to pick up the next morning.
