I'm trying to revive a '73 Midget that hasn't run in 20 years. I'd like to check the timing, and have found the three timing advance indicators behind the radiator, but have been unable to find any marks on the crankshaft pulley. Do you know what the marks look like? Are they on the outer circumference, or on the face of the pulley? Paul

Paul, THere should be a very distinct line etched in the outer circumference of the crank pulley. Bud Osbourne

Paul, I had the same difficulty. Once I found the line I put some white out in it. I eventually made a paper strip with 0 to 360 degrees marked on it that fit on the circumfrence to find out where it was firing. daveslater

Good idea about the white out. I use a white touch up paint to mark timing marks. Clean the pully before applying and it stays forever. Wags
