I am cleaning out the garage before the cold weather. I have two MGB 1800 engines for sale. Both came out of running cars. One is from a 71 MGBGT and the other is out of a 74 MGBGT. I also have a transmission with a new clutch in it from the 74 GT. IT does pop out of third gear sometimes. I also have some assorted suspension parts. There is also an aluminum hood.

Would the aluminum hood you have for sale fit/ be the right hood for the 67 MGB GT that I am working on? Thanks, Dan 412-680-1639

I have a feeling that those parts have long-since moved on. I just hope they went somewhere they would be put to good use. As to your question about the aluminum hood: yes, it will fit your car, as all MGB hoods, from 1962 thru 1980 are interchangeable. However, the aluminum hoods that come up for sale are often way beyond the capabilities of the average, competent autobody repairman. They've led a rough life and the newest ones are 40+ years old. Really, the weight saving isn't really significant (although it sure feels neat when you open one, as opposed to a steel hood and if you've got a straight, un-rusted steel hood to use; that would be the smart choice.
