I think we need to look into some sort of email talk list, for our club. We need something that gets the word out (whatever the "word" happens to be, at the moment) like: RIGHT NOW, as a tool for the upcoming driving season. If you look at the frequency of visits to our website forum, you will notice that it doesn't seem to get much "traffic". Hopefully, during this year's driving season, some of us will be doing some spur of the moment drives, in our MGs. Example: Friday evening, nothing planned for Saturday, great weather forecast.......GREAT excuse to get a few guys together for an early morning run. The problem is: how do you reach them, other than by spending a lot of time on the phone. With the forum, it'll be at least a week before anybody takes the time to log on, and check things out. This is no reflection on Ian, at all, but rather a reflection on our club. It's just that our membership is a bit passive about club activities, and downright timid about driving their MGs. I'd hate to see our club become a "pie & ice cream" club. We need to DRIVE these MGs.....a LOT. The Triumph Club broadcasts an email notice, to all members, a day or two before any club event, as a reminder. The local Porsche 356 group, with a total of about 10 members, has a Yahoo email talk list, which works GREAT for alerting the membership when there's something going on, or when one of the guys needs immediate help with his 356. Our club could easily set up a Yahoo email talk list. Anyway, I'll climb down from my soap box, now, and let someone else jump on.
