I just bought a 79 MGB ran fine when i picked it up and for the next few days. I changed the oil and now im finding a few problems. they are probably not related to the oil change, probably just things that i overlooked when buying. growing up as a mechanics sons i know the basics but was wondering if there is anyone well experienced with this car that might be able to pay me a visit and just give her a once over. I would be willing to pay your gas money for the trip. this car is not a daily driver and im not looking to fully restore her yet but i would like it to be reliable enough to get me to and frome work a few days a week which is about ten miles each direction....if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated and you can get ahold of me at 757 532 0067 or erniehxc@live.com

Where are you located? Someone could be right down the road from you or on the other side of the county!
Any description of what kind of trouble the car is giving you? maybe some one can give you some help right here. For example, I once got stuck because the battery died. Turned out I partially knocked the plug out of the alternator just enough to disconnect the field wire. I didn't notice it because with the field wire loose, the ignition light didn't come on. It probably heppened when changing the oil since the alternator wires always seem to be in the way. The taught me to look for the iginition light to come on when turning the key before going to the start position.
