My '73 Midget restoration is finally starting to come together, "in a gathering rush", so to speak. On Monday, I shot the underside with PPG epoxy primer. This afternoon, I finished the 3m Body Schutz application. Tomorrow, I'll stop back at our local autobody shop supply outlet and pick up the topcoat, which I ordered this morning (they've got the car's boot lid there, to ensure a good color match). Weather & work schedule permitting (heated workshop, but the air supply is piped from an adjacent building & freezes if it's too cold), I'll paint the underside on Monday or Tuesday (Sunday, if I'm lucky). Then, I can flip it right side up, take it off the rotisserie (my '62 Midget will then go on), put it on a roller stand, and get to work prepping the "shiney side" for paint. I do have just one small bit of welding to do, to complete the installation of the new left rear fender, and some pushing/pulling/hammer & dolly work to do around the right tail light mounting area. Realistically, I should have the car ready for topcoat (Glacier White, the car's original color) by early February. That gives me a couple of months to put it all back together, and put some good, hard miles behind it before leaving for Lake of the Ozarks, in late June. Bud Osbourne
